Nowadays, journalists and industry insiders are well aware that videogames has gone fully mainstream and everybody knows what is a Wii, Playstation or Xbox.
According to a research, leaded by TDG, there will be 190M households around the world that will have a next-gen console by 2012. It’s an impressive number. 148M of those will be connected to the Internet and 110M will use it for digital downloading.
Colin Dixon, co-author of this study, say that this proves how far consoles have come. "Microsoft and Sony know that today's console gamers are perfectly suited for new TV offerings and quite comfortable spending money for online digital media.”
Great news for industry!
