Atari’s CEO, Phil Harrison, came to press talking about some subjects of our actuality.
Although Atari hasn’t announced any game under development for PSP, he classified Sony’s handheld as a vibrant platform. He said that they already published some games for PSP and they will do it again in the future.
After announcing some exclusive games for DS (Dragon Ball: Origins and The Chase: Felix Meets Felicity), he said that PSP is a great peace of hardware and with recent changes from Sony, will allow them to explore the digital distribution.
After that, he talked about PS3 Home service and said that has “brilliantly realized their ambitions”. He was on the beta and predicted that Sony “will have a very successful platform”.
Although he had praised his ex-company, he left some compliments to Microsoft too. "I was quite impressed actually with some of the things that [Microsoft has] done," he said. "They're just scratching the surface of what the whole industry recognizes is that customization, socialization and community platforms are going to be just as important as the games themselves."
When the subject is the future, he is convinced that physical form will vanish. He said that "there's a generation of kids being born today and probably already alive who I'm pretty confident will never buy a physical media product. They will never buy a DVD, they will never buy a CD, and they will never buy a game in a box."
